About Creek Livestock

Scott Creek has worked in the farming industry since 1999. Born and bred in the local area and growing up on the farm with his family in Strathdownie VIC, Scott followed in the footsteps of his father to become a farm hand working for the late Allan Scott.

In 2010 Scott took a year off to travel and returned home in 2011 to then begin his journey as a stock and station agent with Elders Mount Gambier. After 18 months he moved on to work for Ray White Keatley.  The experience gained with these two companies provided Scott with the confidence to move forward, launching his own business Creek Livestock. With the help and behind the scenes work of his wife Bo Creek, this move has been very successful with a large number of livestock owners recognising Scott’s ability as an agent.

His passion for his job has given him motive to strive to get the best possible results for his clients. Using his broad knowledge of both cattle and sheep marketing, and having an ever-expanding network of contacts in the industry, Scott will go to all lengths to achieve the best outcome for his clients.

Glenburine / Cattle Market Report – 2 Aug

Agents yarded a similar number to the previous week with 430 head of live weight and open auction cattle coming forward. The usual array of trade and processor buyers were present and active on a generally good quality offering with less of the cattle lacking finish and weight that we have seen in recent weeks.  Restockers and feeders were also present and active although prices experienced a downward trend, as most categories eased.

A small number of vealers were presented, with steers selling to 312c and heifers to 310c/kg.  Yearling steers to the trade ranged from 274c to 311c with some feeder activity from 285c to 310c and a small amount turned out by restockers to 314c/kg.  Yearling heifers to the trade ranged from 254c to 300c with feeders active to 290c/kg.

Grown steers and bullocks ranged from 272c to 307c, while the grown heifers to the trade ranged from 240c to 283c and some were turned back out by restockers to 279c/kg.  There was a small amount of feeder activity to 266c/kg. Manufacturing steers sold to 234c/kg.  Cow numbers remained steady as the light weight types ranged from 170c to 230c and the heavy cows bucked the easier trend to remain firm in price, ranging from 245c to 265c/kg. Heavy bulls to the trade ranged from 200c to 254c with a single to a restocker at 267c/kg.
